About Us
The Will County Children's Advocacy Center and our multidisciplinary partners are the front-line responders to reports of sexual abuse, severe physical abuse, sexual exploitation, child pornography, neglect, and exposure to violence of children, ages 3-18, in Will County, Illinois. We value our clinicians and are committed to strong work-life balance, meaningful clinical support, and a connected, supportive team culture.
Position Summary

This role focuses on promoting safety, reducing trauma-related symptoms, building healthy coping skills, and strengthening relationships.
Essential Functions
- Provide trauma-informed assessments and therapy to children and their non-offending caregivers and family members.
- Develop individualized, strengths-based treatment plans with clear goals and measurable outcomes.

- Fulfill mandatory reporting responsibilities as required by Illinois law.
- Support the mission, values, and collaborative culture of the Will County CAC.
- Occasionally, therapists may be asked to participate in court proceedings related to a client’s case.
Education & Licensure
Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field; Illinois professional licensure (LSW/LCSW, LPC/LCPC, or equivalent), and ability to maintain all required licensure and continuing education.
Skills & Experience
Two years of professional experience providing trauma-focused evidence-based therapy to children and adolescents preferred. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; interest in providing therapy to children and adolescents ages 3–18; ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Collaborative Team Environment
Our CAC model emphasizes partnership and communication. You’ll work alongside advocates, medical professionals, and community partners who share the same mission of supporting children and families.
Work-Life Balance & Flexibility
Manageable caseloads designed to support high-quality care and minimize burnout. Flexible scheduling to support family and personal needs.
Clinical Support & Professional Growth
We coordinate obtaining certification in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) training and cover the costs associated with that training, and ongoing professional development opportunities for our therapists. Clinicians are supported by leadership in identifying, arranging, and accessing trainings, rather than navigating that process alone.
Positive Workplace Culture
We believe meaningful work should be supported and sustainable. Our team enjoys staff appreciation events, morale-building activities, and opportunities to connect beyond daily responsibilities.
